AI Systems Notice

We use artificial intelligence in a few specific places on this site. This page explains where, why, what humans still do, and the rights you have. No jargon, no fine print.

Effective: May 2026

PlondoLife is a licensed life insurance brokerage. We use artificial intelligence (“AI”) to help with a small set of tasks — mostly to make our agent training and our website work better. We do notuse AI to decide whether you can get coverage, what your premium should be, or whether to pay a claim. Those decisions are made by the issuing insurance carrier’s underwriters and licensed claim adjusters — humans, every time.

1. Where we use AI

As of the effective date above, we use AI in the following places. If we add a new use, we’ll update this page and revise the effective date.

  • PralaAI— an in-app study assistant available to licensed and pre-licensed PlondoLife agents inside the agent dashboard. PralaAI helps agents practice for state insurance exams, summarize study material, and ask plain-English questions about life insurance concepts. It is nota quoting engine, an underwriting tool, or a substitute for the carrier’s licensed support staff.
  • Search and content matching— we compute mathematical “embeddings” of our question-bank content so that PralaAI can find the most relevant material when an agent asks a question. The embeddings are derived from our own content, not from user data.
  • Light operational tooling— from time to time we may use AI internally to draft or summarize documentation, review code, or prepare non-customer-facing materials. These uses do not involve your personal information.

2. What we do not use AI for

To make sure there is no confusion, here is a list of things we deliberately do not use AI for:

  • Underwriting or eligibility decisions on a life insurance, annuity, or supplemental policy. Those are made by the issuing carrier.
  • Setting your premium, cap rate, participation rate, floor, surrender schedule, or any other contract term. Those are set by the carrier.
  • Approving, denying, paying, or contesting a claim. Carriers handle claims through their own licensed adjusters.
  • Profiling you, scoring you, or making any consequential decision about you based on protected characteristics (race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, marital status, military or veteran status, or any other class protected by federal or state law).
  • Replacing your licensed PlondoLife agent. Conversations about your policy, your needs, and your application are between you and a licensed human.

3. Humans stay in the loop

Where we do use AI, a licensed human is responsible for the outcome. PralaAI’s output is reviewed by the agent using it before it informs any client conversation, and our internal teams review AI-assisted work product before it is published or used in business decisions. AI is a tool that extends what people can do — it does not act on our behalf without oversight.

4. Third-party AI providers

We use commercial AI services from established providers rather than building large models ourselves. As of the effective date, our providers are:

  • Anthropic— the language model behind PralaAI (the Claude family of models). See Anthropic’s privacy policy and commercial terms. Under our agreement with Anthropic, your inputs to PralaAI are not used to train Anthropic’s public models.
  • Voyage AI— the embedding service that lets PralaAI find relevant study material. See Voyage’s privacy policy.

We may add or change providers as the field evolves. When we do, we’ll update this page. We do not sell personal information to AI providers, and we do not allow them to use your information to train their public models.

5. Training data

We do not train AI models on customer policy data, payment information, sensitive personal information, or contractor/agent personnel files. PralaAI is grounded in our own published study material (state-by-state exam content, glossary, FAQs, and curriculum we’ve written) and publicly available life-insurance reference material. If we ever change this practice, we’ll update this page and notify affected users in advance.

6. Logging and improvement

To improve quality and keep the service working, we log interactions with PralaAI (the question asked, the answer returned, basic metadata). Logs are retained for a limited period and used to debug errors, evaluate model behavior, and identify topics where the assistant could be more helpful. We do not use these logs to identify or profile individual users beyond what is necessary to operate the product.

7. Your rights

If you interact with AI through a PlondoLife product or this site, you have the right to:

  • Ask for a human. If you would prefer not to interact with AI, ask your PlondoLife agent or email support@plondo.com and a person will help you.
  • Request human reviewof any meaningful decision a PlondoLife system has made about you. As noted above, today we don’t use AI for the kinds of decisions that would normally require human review (such as underwriting), but if that ever changes, you can invoke this right by contacting us.
  • Know how AI was used in any communication you received from us. Email support@plondo.com and we’ll explain.
  • Exercise your privacy rights. All of the standard rights described in our Privacy Policy apply to AI interactions: access, correction, deletion, opt-out from targeted advertising, and the others available under applicable state law.

8. Bias, fairness, and accuracy

AI is good at language and pattern recognition, but it is not infallible. We monitor PralaAI for incorrect answers, biased outputs, and behavior that doesn’t line up with our values, and we improve the system when problems are identified. We do not rely on AI for decisions about race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, or any other protected category, and we expect the same of our providers. If you encounter an AI response from a PlondoLife product that seems wrong, biased, or harmful, tell us at support@plondo.com and we will look into it.

9. Carrier AI use is separate

Each insurance carrier we’re appointed with has its own technology stack and may use AI in its own underwriting, fraud-detection, or claims processes. PlondoLife does not control those systems, and the carriers’ AI use is governed by the carrier’s own notices and the laws that apply to them. If you have a question about how a specific carrier uses AI, your PlondoLife agent can point you to the carrier’s notice or you can contact the carrier directly.

10. Regulatory alignment

We design our AI practices to align with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Model Bulletin on the Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems by Insurers, and with state laws as they take effect (including Colorado’s SB 21-169 and the AI-related provisions adopted by the New York Department of Financial Services). Our practices may evolve as the law evolves; we’ll update this page when material changes occur.

11. Children

PlondoLife products and AI features are not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our AI systems are not designed for or directed at minors.

12. Updates

We’ll update this page when our AI use, providers, or practices change in a meaningful way. The most current version always lives at plondolife.com/ai-policy. For material changes, we’ll also note the change at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
